In my life this week… it's been a rough week at my house. Sunday night found me in the ER with YDD for abdominal pains. X-ray showed lots of poop in her bowels, so we were sent home with some magnesium citrate for her to take Monday morning. I woke Monday with a migraine which made for a long day even aside from YDD's experience of flushing her system. That went well, but between 9:30-10:30p she threw up all over us while we were sleeping. Thankfully Daddy and Brother helped with clean up and we were back in bed in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, she woke every hour until 3a throwing up some more and she gained a fever during the night. Tuesday was more migraine for me and she laid around watching a screen most of the day. Her pediatrician recommended we focus on rehydrating and resting so we did. Thankfully she slept through the night on Tuesday and kept down all the bland food she ate.
In our homeschool this week… one day we managed math; it's been a rough week.
Helpful homeschooling advice to share… here's my keeping it real post about our school space. Here's the link-up for school rooms at iHomeschool Network.
This week's art . . . for our Harry Potter book club, we did this Pinterest project. It's making wands with chopsticks. A new girl arrived after we had finished the wands, so I told her we would make some with her this summer. Today we started:
|This time we used twigs from the yard and it is WAY better than chopsticks.|
|The wands have the hot glue and beads and the base coat of paint. Over this will go a wash of black paint and a dry brush of a lighter color.|
What we are reading . . . nope, but I have a stack I need to read so I need to focus.
My favorite thing this week was… my husband's zero rejection from his heart biopsy. Very awesome.
My kiddos favorite thing this week was… Daddy's biopsy results.
Things I’m working on… tomatoes from my garden! The sauce was very tasty and we've started the dehydration process today.
I’m thankful for… my little observer, YDD. I am thankful she is quiet and watches and sees so much. She took these pictures of a little bird to share with her cousin, Z, who is our family bird expert. I am thankful for her heart that acknowledges Z's expertise.
